The History of ABT

ABT Treuhand Group has been providing services to our clients since 1980. We have been able to continuously grow and expand since 1980 only thanks to our clients. Follow our company’s history from the very beginnings.

The decisive milestones of ABT Treuhand Group since 1980.

1 august 1980:

On Swiss National Day, Andreas Baumann, together with his wife Dagmar, founds his own company, Andreas Baumann & Co. in Zurich. Andreas Baumann is a chartered banking specialist, business economist KSZ and later (from 1986) a chartered tax expert. The purpose of his new organisation is to provide a full range of fiduciary and audit services.

11 october 1983:

Foundation of Andreas Baumann Finanz AG, Zurich

24 october 1983:

Foundation of ABACOR Revisionsgesellschaft, Zurich

30 september 1985:

6 members of staff in the meantime.

In the same year, Andreas Baumann & Co. is one of the founder partners of the International Association of Qualified Trustees and Audit Companies, Ossers International which, two years later, becomes an associate member of S+W International, a globally active, larger organisation.

6 october 1987:

Jeannette Frank joins the organisation as an investor partner.

27 october 1987:

Inauguration of the Andreas Baumann & Co. branch at Riedstrasse 9 in Cham, simultaneously taking over the activities of Jeannette Frank's company, Computreu AG.

1 september 1988:

The branch moves into its own offices at Eschfeldstrasse 2 in Steinhausen (canton Zug).

1 october 1988:

Jeannette Frank becomes a partner with unlimited liability and a share of 50% of the business.

20 december 1990

Andreas Baumann & Co. moves into its own building at Zurichstrasse 27b in Adliswil, on the outskirts of Zurich.

1 januar 1992:

Arthur Exer, a chartered auditor, joins the organisation as a member of the Board and CEO of ABACOR Revisionsgesellschaft, Cham.

1 november 1993:

Andreas Baumann and Jeannette Frank establish Andreas Baumann és Társai Kft. in Budapest. The new firm is managed by Klara Matovocs, Partner.

1 august 1994:

Andreas Baumann és Társai Kft. moves into its own offices at Zsolna utca 5 in Budapest. It now has 5 members of staff.

Andreas Baumann és Társai Kft. moves into its own offices at Zsolna utca 5 in Budapest. It now has 5 members of staff.

1 february 1996:

Andreas Baumann and Jeannette Frank establish ABACOR Könyvviszgálo Kft. in Budapest. The new company is managed by Gyöngyi Ferencz, chartered auditor and Partner. On the same day, Guido Schmid, chartered trust expert, joins Andreas Baumann & Co. in Cham as the head of operations.

The Group now has 20 members of staff (7 in Adliswil, 8 in Cham and 5 in Budapest).

1 april 1996:

Space has run out for the Zug branch. It moves into new and bigger offices at Alte Steinhauserstr. 1 in Cham.

30 september 1996:

Jeannette Frank has to step down as a Partner because of serious illness.

30 september 1997:

The partnership is expanded by the appointment of Arthur Exer and Guido Schmid.

1 august 1998:

Jozsef Lang joins Andreas Baumann és Társai Kft. as a member of executive management.

1 january 1999:

S+W International merges with SC International, meaning that Andreas Baumann & Co. is now a member of one of the world's biggest and most renowned associations.

1 april 2001:

Entry of Gabriella Forgács, chartered auditor and tax expert, as a member of executive management of ABACOR Könyvvizsgálo Kft., Budapest.

4 april 2001:

A new market image and changes of name in Switzerland:

Andreas Baumann & Co., Treuhandgesellschaft becomes ABT Treuhandgesellschaft Andreas Baumann & Co.
ABACOR Revisionsgesellschaft becomes ABT Revisionsgesellschaft AG
Andreas Baumann Finanz AG becomes ABT Finanzgesellschaft AG.

1 may 2001:

Theo Schelbert joins the group as a chartered accountant/controller and member of executive management, integrating his former trust firm Shelbert Treuhand into ABT Treuhandgesellschaft Andreas Baumann & Co. and ABT Revisionsgesellschaft AG.

21 juny 2001:

Jozsef Lang, cert. economist and tax expert becomes a Partner at ABT Hungaria Tanácsadó Kft., Budapest

1 september 2001:

A new market image and new names in Hungary:

Andreas Baumann ès Társai Kft. becomes ABT Hungária Tanácsadó Kft.
ABACOR Könyvvizsgáló becomes ABT Hungária Könyvvizsgáló Kft.

6 august 2002:

Gabriella Forgács becomes a Partner at ABT Hungária Könyvvizsgáló Kft., Budapest.

30 september 2003:

Change of the international network from SC International to NEXIA International

9 september 2005:

The ABT Group (founded on 1 August 1980) celebrates its 25-year jubilee with all the employees from Switzerland and Hungary

30 november 2005:

Entry of ABT Hugaria Tanácsadó Kft. and ABT Könyvvizsgáló Kft., Budapest´into the network of NEXIA International
